Hiroshi Sugimoto
U.A. Play House, New York, 1978 The photographer that I will be writing about is Hiroshi Sugimoto. Sugimoto is very well known f or its architecture and seascapes. The reason I picked these two pieces of his work is due to how simple they are. As someone who is very fond of architecture photography, he has a different eye when it comes to capturing structures. Speaking of structures, his work on theaters is by far the most interesting set that he has developed. It is simple, but with a sense of loneliness as well. Given that the work is in black and white , the way he captures theaters/ playhouses throughout the world is well compo sed. Always on the same angle but differentiate in many ways based on the theater's surroundings and positioning. Other work that I found fascinating is his seascapes.
