Steve McCurry is one of the most interesting photographers that I've searched up in a while since his work stands out in a unique way. The work he creates from many countries in the middle east illustrates something different within his pictures; showing a different culture and the struggles in which these countries have been through. His work illustrates a different scenery and nature than what I'm used to seeing, providing the different cultures and people that are by far different and have a different feeling. His photographs seem to capture the point of view of these people, the struggle, and the sort of lifestyle or culture in which these people go have and go through. I personally see his artwork as something beautiful because we can see how different the atmosphere is for these living in such harmful times. Photography overall can be defined as something more than a picture, is a sort of art that can be expressed in many ways. Saying that photography has a singular meaning puts aside the broader meaning of what photography means, it is often seen as something more than a picture for others. I believe that photography does more than just show something, in a way is more to get people to look at and think what the meaning is behind a picture. Even if a photograph can be a simple picture of a car; there is always someone that looks thoroughly at what the picture is trying to show.
