Portraiture Photographer: Peter Yang
Portraiture Photographer: Peter Yang
Portraiture photography is one of the more common pieces of work within the photography field. This work of photography primarily focuses on capturing the emotion and character of a person through composition and posing. What makes portraiture so unique? Portraiture can be utilized in many ways, such as demonstrating emotion, which is commonly known, but showing the character of the subjects is more impactful. I say this because Peter Yang works to demonstrate the unique character of well-known actors and even athletes.
Peter Yang works primarily through portraiture, using actors and athletes as his models. While utilizing props and unique backgrounds to portray an individual’s character. I am a major fan of his Humor series, where he works with actors to have a more comedic aspect in his portraits. The photograph above is a great example of portraying a person’s character in a more comedic way while using props to provide a more interesting photo. It works given that the person photographed is none other than Jimmy Fallon, well known for his comedic skits. A lot of Peter Yang’s work is like this, and he demonstrates an unfamiliar perspective of popular individuals having fun throughout his series. Overall, his work is fun to see, and I hope people enjoy more of his work.
